Pre-experience and Post-experience program
According to the Financial Times, pre-experience programs are geared toward students with little professional experience. In contrast, post-experience programs call for participants to have experience working in the banking industry. The FT Global Master’s in Finance rankings, including pre-and post-experience degrees, are now in their most recent iteration.
Programs must adhere to tight requirements to qualify. They must be cohort-based, full-time and produce at least 30 graduates annually.
Rankings are based on data gathered from two different surveys. The first comprising of business schools and the second is made up of 2019 degree-completed alumni. A school must have at least 20 completed surveys from at least 20% of its alumni to be included in the rankings. The FT considered schools with a decreased response rate because of the pandemic. It polled 339 post-experience course graduates and 6,264 graduates from pre-experience programs, with a response rate of 35% and 22%, respectively.
Data from the schools are utilized to gauge the program's global reach as well as the gender and citizenship diversity of the teaching staff, board members, and students. Schools with a 50:50 (male to female) composition obtain the highest score for the gender criteria. The FT considers the proportion of international students, the percentage of international professors and students at each school that is reported in the numbers for global diversity.
However, for the post-experience rankings, the calculations of value for money are different since they consider the opportunity cost, the cost of not working while pursuing the degree, and the program's total cost.
