Sirine, MIM, ESCP Business School, Jun 2021, Student of the Month

Meet Sirine, a very bright young female who is just 22 and will soon be starting her master's in management journey at ESCP Business School. She's French, and after graduating in July 2020 with a BBA from ESADE Business School in Barcelona, she enrolled in ESCP's master’s in management/Grande Ecole Programme, specializing in digital transformation and investment banking. She had a year gap between her bachelor's and master's in which she enrolled as an analyst intern at Sodica, the M&A solution of Groupe Crédit Agricole, the first banking group in France. She worked as an equity investment analyst intern at CNP SA, a private Belgian mid-market investment company. She knows Dutch, English, French, and Spanish. She wanted to broaden her field, so she decided to get a master's degree in management and contacted Dr Hubert. Her future objective was to work in investment baking and strategy consultancy. After getting in touch with the MBA Center, we helped and guided her throughout her application process, and she managed to get into her best-fit program at ESCP Berlin. We had a quick interview with her recently. Let us dive into her journey so far below!

Could you please introduce yourself?

Hi everyone, I'm Sirine, and I'm French. I just graduated from ESADE Business School, based in Barcelona, with a bachelor's of business and administration degree. I'm super excited to start my master's journey moving to Germany next week at ESCP Business School.

Why did you choose a MIM? Why not an MBA since you have done BBA?

Mainly for the flexibility that is granted. In the sense that you can personalize your learning journey with a MIM. ESCP allows us to cumulate specialization, and I'm looking forward to being in strategy consultancy and investment banking.

What, according to you, was the most difficult part of the application process for you?

It was the interview part as I didn't know what to expect. I was not used to such exercise. It takes lots of practice and guidance, so it was pretty challenging for me.

How was your association with Dr Hubert Silly, as you got to work with him, if I'm not mistaken?

I am very happy and satisfied with the collaboration I got to have with Dr Hubert. He was the only one I got to work with, which I particularly appreciated because he believed in my project. It was getting difficult for me to work on an application with my studies, but he believed in my objective and helped and supported me in dealing with the time constraints.

Any piece of advice that you would like to give to the applicants?

You should believe in yourself. I would say you should dare and not be afraid of the situation. Take help from experts like Dr Hubert to deal with everything, so this would be my advice.
