Simon, MBA, INSEAD, Jan 2022, Student of the Month

Simon, could you tell me more about yourself?

I did my bachelor's in business from Central European Business School, followed by a master's in business from Vlerick Business School. After that, I started working with the Coca-Cola company as a brand manager. Apart from work, I am passionate about rugby, and I love movies and travelling.

You already have a good study background in business since you have a bachelor's and master's degree in business, so why did you go for that?

Yes, I know that I had some exposure to business education, but these two schools were underrated, and I had a belief that I could do much better than that. Also, I needed to make connections and have the credibility to talk to potential investors.

You mentioned that you want to work in the US, then why INSEAD?

I had two reasons why I have applied to INSEAD. First of all, I already had five years of business education, and I'm already 29, so I wanted to complete it as soon as possible, and only INSEAD has a one-year program. Secondly, INSEAD has a partner program with Wharton that allows me to study for four months there, and I can take advantage of the career services at Wharton, one of the best schools in the world.

A piece of advice that you would like to give to potential applicants in the future.

Identify the right target schools, get ready for it, and go for the best.

Simon, what do you mean by the best?

When I started, I was advantaged, coming from a business background already. Day by day, when we worked on my application and after my preparation, I managed to get a GMAT score of 690, and without the help of Dr Hubert, it wouldn't have been possible for me. He is an expert in this area, and many of my friends have been accepted by his guidance and strategies to NYU, LBS, INSEAD, Columbia, MIT, etc. I would highly recommend his service to any candidate looking to do the same.
